This blog
post is being made to help you prepare for the CISF SI (Sub-Inspectors) Exam by
pointing you to the exam prep materials of CISF SI Exam - Sample Papers &
Prep Books
At first let me tell you that although this article is being made on the
eve of Limited Departmental Competitive Exam (LDCE) for Sub-Inspectors in CISF -
the prep materials (i.e. Syllabus, Sample Papers & Books) can also be used
for future examinees i.e. CISF SI Exam 2013/ 2014 as the pattern of the
exam/selection process is not going to change soon.
CISF SI Exam
pattern:
As mentioned in the notification, CISF Sub-Inspectors written exam consists of a single paper of total 200 marks, which has to be answered in 3 ½ Hours. The table at right gives you a clear idea about the test sections and mark distribution in the CISF SI exam paper.
These test sections are identical to the SSC SI exam for recruitment
of Sub-Inspectors in the four CAPF (Central Armed Police Force) organisations -
BSF, CISF, CRPF & ITBP, which you can find in the table below as well as in
my previous blog post titled: SSC
CAPF SI/ASI Exam Sample Papers, Books, Syllabus & Exam Pattern. If you
analyse these two exam pattern/format closely, you will find that only
"Part-C Quantitative Aptitude" section of CISF SI Exam is named as
"Numerical Ability" in SSC CAPF SI exam, which actually means the same
thing. Therefore, you can use the prep materials (i.e. Sample papers &
Books) for CAPF to prepare for CISF SI Exam.
This
exam format of CISF SI Exam is also similar to Bank Clerical/PO exams - which
also has similar four test sections - Test of reasoning, General Awareness,
Numerical Aptitude & test of English language. Since the test section and
even mark distributions are so similar, you can therefore use the banking exam
papers & books to prepare for CISF Exam.
No syllabus has been prescribed in the exam notification for CISF SI exam.
However, you can use the following syllabus prescribed of Delhi Police SI Exam
as a reference syllabus:
